So it’s been awhile since the Guitar Hero III game was released and I’ve had a good long time to play it. I’ve got to say the game is amazing (check out my Review Here) it’s truly the best Guitr hero to date. But, I’m not really here to talk about how great the game is, I’m here to talk about online and tournaments.

Basically you can join tournaments on the Guitar Hero III site. Most tournaments are won by playing a lot of matches and acculmalating points for all of your wins. Usually you can only play certain songs but you’re allowed to play against anyone and in any of the three battles, it’s an interesting set up.

 But, there are a lot of flaws with this set up. Often more then not you’ll find that your games weren’t recorded and sometimes they’ll record that you lost. It really sucks when this happens because it takes away points from your score. In one tournament I was in I lost a lot of points for games that I didn’t lose, which gave me fifth place, I could have easily got 2nd or 3rd if it didn’t screw up on me.

Which is another problem, I’ve done more things in my Guitar Hero game then some of my online friends yet they have a lot more groupies then I do. What’s the deal? It totally sucks, plus sometimes my score doesn’t even update. It really pisses me off.

 Atleast the online is fun because at the moment the Guitar Hero site could be much better. Here’s hoping for a better online future. I think we may get it too, as with the announcement of downloadable content coming in the future, hopefully things will get better.

So, after getting Metroid Prime 3 Corruption 5 days ago (on launch) I’ve finally completed the game. Suffice to say it I will be releasing a review on Wiiloaded alongside of a Metroid and Super Metroid review. But, for those who haven’t gotten the game you may be wondering about some things. As a few friends of my were wondering a few things and I took their questions and will answer them here.

 How well does it play play? Aka how well does it utilize the Wii-mote?:

This is a question that a lot of people seem to ask. They hear a lot that the game has incredible control and that it’s the best yet. To be honest it’s true, the precision aiming in MP3 is so incredibly accurate that you’ll never EVER want to go back to using an analog stick again. As for utilizing the Wii-Remote there’s a lot of context sensitive motions you need to do in the game to complete certain tasks. I tell you, I had absolutely NO problem with these motions, they worked seemlessly. The only motion that suffers slightly is the Morph ball jump. It doesn’t always register, but if you do large motions the Morph Ball should be no problem.

Is the game long? Or is it like Twilight Princess were we thought it be long but wasn’t really?:

It took me a good 5 days to beat this game and about 20 some hours worth of exploring and gaming. It truly is a long game and is most likely longer than Twilight Princess. Although, once this game is beaten you can’t go back and explore, honestly there’s nothing TO explore after you’ve completely beaten it. Although, you’ll most likely want to play the game again because it’s just that great.

Well I be overwhelmed by enemies?:

No. One thing you need to remember is that MP3 isn’t a First Person Shooter, its a First Person Adventure. So you won’t find yourself being completely overwhelmed by enemies. There is still a lot of combat to be had though, don’t you worry about that!

How difficult are the puzzles?:

This is a hard question, see the puzzles vary. Some of them are simple, but fulfilling while others are plain out hard. Really, it depends on what sort of ‘puzzles’ your good at solving. Some things may seem hard while others are easier. But don’t think that this game is for anyone, you need to be a pretty well seasoned gamer to be able to beat these puzzles.

 How difficult and Epic are the Boss Battle?:

This is a toughy as well, as I obviously can’t just out and tell you the boss battles. But I can tell you one thing, most of the boss battles are hard and all of them are challenging. As for Epic, these are the most Epic boss battles I’ve ever played, and that’s saying something.  I can’t go into detail but whats more epic then battling Ridley while falling down a giant generator shaft?

 Is it smart to go for 100% on your first go at the game?:

In my opinon, no. See you can’t always enjoy the game if your constantly scanning everything and sweating over that one creature you missed. I think for your first time through you may want to just try for 75% so you can atleast get one of the extended endings. But really, there’s three difficulty settings. Play it on Normal first, then Veteran and then try getting 100% in one of the unlockable difficulties. You’ll enjoy the game more like that and will get everything out of it.
